- Place the buckets
We bring you clean buckets and you place them in strategic locations where organic waste is generated. If you need help we can advise you on where to place the buckets.
Your buckets arrive on your first service day. That first visit is a delivery, not a pickup, and nothing is charged for it. Your first real pickup is the following service day.
- Seal and set out
Seal full buckets with the lid and place in the designated location for bucket swaps.
- We swap and weigh
We come swap out full buckets for clean ones and weigh each bucket and record the weights to your account.

- We report back
We email you a report that measures how much organic waste you have diverted from landfills, how much compost your organic waste has created, and once it cures, we will tell you where your compost ended up around the city.
Restaurants can request a weight on each bucket for kitchen operations adjustments, and offices or events can request metrics as needed for sustainability reports.
- We compost it
We take your organic waste and compost it and utilize it in street tree beds and community gardens in NYC.
And round again: the compost goes back into the ground that grows the food.

Changing a pickup
You can modify service through your online account on our website or by calling, emailing, or texting us.
| Skip a pickup | Free until 5pm the day before. Make sure to tell us to skip before we come. Once we arrive, a surcharge will apply whether the buckets are ready for pick up or not. |
| Change bucket count | Add or remove buckets through your online account and we will plan to bring extra or leave fewer buckets accordingly. |
One-off events work differently, because there is no route day to change. Events get their own quote.
If your neighborhood is not on route yet
Route density is what keeps the price where it is.
If we are not in your neighborhood at all, we take your address for the waitlist and will keep you updated when we have enough demand in your neighborhood to start service.
You can help by referring others and you get a referral link at signup. Anyone who joins through it gets a credit, and so do you.
